Position Purpose: The Senior Electrical Engineer performs professional engineering work involving considerable independence in approach, demanding a considerable degree of originality, ingenuity and judgment, and knowledge of more than one field of, or expertise in a particular field.

Position Type: Full Time Exempt 

Pay Range: $92,000 - $ 151,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Apply innovative design techniques to a solve a variety of engineering challenges as the senior electrical engineer on multidisciplinary projects. 
  • Write detailed design documentation for use by other electrical engineers, other engineering teams, and external customers. Hold formal and informal design reviews as needed.
  • Mentor junior engineers by working alongside them on challenging projects, attending their design reviews, and otherwise helping them grow as electrical engineer.
  • Use a variety of tools to analyze and simulate electrical designs, selecting the best tool for the job as needed. Generate schematics using an ECAD tool and perform basic layout tasks.
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment on both R&D and production projects. Complete tasks with evolving requirements. Demonstrate strong ownership of the design process and an ability to work primarily independently.
  • Debug hardware in a laboratory environment with common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Assembly, Test, and other specialized teams as needed to develop high quality, reliable hardware for our customers.
  • Refine the skills needed to develop truly next generation space flight hardware! Expand your skillset and lead by example as you gain experience developing next generation satellite electronics. 


 Required Qualifications/Education:

  • BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar field.
  • 6+ years of hardware design experience.  Advanced academic degrees may count toward experience.
  • Strong ability to communicate with other engineers, management, and external customers over both written and verbal communication channels.
  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrable knowledge of electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with at least one schematic capture/layout tool and at least one spice-based simulation tool.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, or other scripting language for scientific computing.
  • Experience designing for harsh or mission critical environments including one of aerospace, automotive, aviation, medical, or naval.
  • Experience designing to industry standards (such as EMI/EMC).
