Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Reliability Intern to join our BCT Summer in Space Internship program. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. In addition, applicants must be enrolled fall semester 2021. This will be a full-time position for the summer for approximately 10 weeks, starting near the end of May 2022.

Title: Reliability Engineer Intern

Position Type: Summer Internship

Pay Range: $21.00-$23.00 hour (Salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Location: Lafayette, CO

Position Details:

  • 3-month paid internship
  • 40 hours per week
  • No relocation assistance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to mission operations concept and flight product development
  • Create and maintain requirements for ground and flight segments and assist with requirements verification and validation
  • Create mission operations documentation, procedures, command scripts and timelines
  • Support integrated system level testing of flight and ground segments
  • Provide training documentation to operations engineers both internally and externally to customer operations teams
  • Perform and/or assist with real-time spacecraft/payload command and control during launch and early orbit
  • Perform trending and analysis of spacecraft/payload performance and assist with anomaly investigations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree from a four-year university. Must be working towards a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline. Undergraduate applicants must have completed the first 3 years of a degree program’s coursework. 
  • Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task
  • Effective communication skills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects
  • US work authorization required

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
