Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a talented and enthusiastic  FPGA Electrical Engineer Intern to join our BCT Summer in Space Internship program. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. In addition, applicants must be enrolled fall semester 2021. This will be a full-time position for the summer for approximately 10 weeks, starting near the end of May 2022.

Pay Range: $21.00-$23.00 hour (Salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Location: Lafayette, CO


Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiative to identify and complete tasks with mentor support.
  • Learn and improve skills and abilities in the design of digital hardware, specifically FPGA development in VHDL.
  • Use schematic capture tools and participate in hands-on lab debug of high-speed digital systems.
  • Gain exposure to a wide variety of design and technology areas supporting small satellite processing, ADCS, power control, high speed communication and SW defined radio (SDR).
  • Improving technical writing, producing concise design documentation that clearly describes design and implementation while following BCT process.
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment that will focus on one or more of the following: R&D, proof of concept, and production programs.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree from a four-year university.
  • Must be working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers.
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task.
  • Effective communication skills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects.
  • US work authorization required.


Position Details:

  • 3-month paid internship
  • 40 hours per week
  • No relocation assistance


Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filling cabinets and fax machines.
