Title: Director of Contracts

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $120,000 - $170,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Location: Lafayette, CO

Position Purpose: The Director of Contracts will be providing administration of current and new contracts for existing customers and new business development. The Director of Contracts will develop and administer various aspects of request for proposal solicitation and subcontract preparation, evaluation, negotiation, award, monitoring and close-out.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development and documentation of contracts-related strategies & policies
  • Responsible for the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of complex, multi-phased sales contractual instruments, as well as subcontracting needs.
  • Develop and administer various aspects of request for proposal solicitation preparation, evaluation, negotiation, award, monitoring and close-out.
  • Analysis and negotiations of terms and conditions of contracts
  • Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws
  • Interprets and ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other applicable regulations
  • Reviews contracts and agreements for product export, liability and risk, intellectual property, legal sufficiency and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and BCT policies
  • Reviews contracts and agreements for product performance, quality, and delivery requirements, and flows those details to the cognizant project manager, mission assurance manager, and production manager
  • Works closely with accounting, program management, and other personnel to resolve issues related to contract provisions
  • Manage Contracts Department, providing oversight and management to the team. Provide training and mentoring to team members to develop and build upon skillsets of the team to ensure growth and development of each individual member
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working directly with Government and Commercial contracts
  • Experience reviewing, preparing and/or monitoring of both procurement and sales contracts
  • Experience with Government (FAR / DFAR) contracts, including Fixed Price (FP), Time & Material (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Fixed priced level of effort (FPLOE), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), Level of Effort (LOE), Incentive and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract types/vehicles
  • Advanced knowledge of patent, copyright, and technology transfer regulations
  • Expertise in identifying liability, risk, export, intellectual property issues, and proposing solutions
  • Working knowledge of budgeting and proposal process, including the application of indirect rates and fees
  • Ability to interact successfully with all levels of management, engineering and administrative staff both internal and external to BCT


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
