Position Purpose: As an RF Test Engineer I you will be working in a team environment, sometimes with remote team members, engaging in test and support of flight spacecraft electronics. Development work will span test procedure development, writing automated test scripts, test equipment design, and executing tests using aerospace standard approaches.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $110,000

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure automated radio testing is operating smoothly
  • Execute RF tests, following documented procedures
  • Update and create automated tests to streamline production
  • Characterize flight RF hardware and ground support equipment, such as antennas, antenna hats
  • Assist with GPS testing as needed
  • Support RF test on programs as needed
  • Write and update test documentation as needed
  • Support co-workers in the use of RF test equipment

Required Qualifications/Education

  • 0-5 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Systems Engineering, or similar
  • Substitute 2 years each for Masters and Ph.D
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental RF principles
  • Experience with basic functions of standard RF test equipment (Spectrum analyzers, power meters)
  • Ability to write and execute test procedures
  • Ability to understand requirements generated by engineering teams
  • Experience with programming languages including Matlab, Ruby, and/or Python or similar
  • Experience testing RF systems including threshold tests, doppler correction
  • Ability to work independently with direction and to be a self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned
