Position Purpose:  As a Software Engineer I on the Mission Operations Center Software (MOC) team, you will help support spacecraft operators, system engineers, manufacturing teams and customers - beginning at design and continuing through development, manufacturing, launch, and flight. The MOC Software Team develops and maintains cloud-based applications using the MongoDB, ExpressJS, Polymer, and NodeJS stack, and also supports development for the COSMOS Command, Control, and Telemetry system using Ruby to build new procedures and tools. On any given day the team will also work with Linux configurations, AWS setup, networking setup, hardware interfaces, and just about anything else!

Pay Range: $75,000-$105,000

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn, grow, adapt, have fun – we are a very full-stack team, and flexible problem solving is more critical than deep mastery of any one tool.
  • Develop and support back-end tools and services for mission operations to meet the growing challenges of multiple single and multi-satellite missions.
  • Provide configuration and troubleshooting support for integration, test, ground compatibility, and flight operations.
  • Develop software within an agile team environment. Interact with engineers from various disciplines spanning multiple programs every day.


Required Qualifications/Education:

  • 1-3 years of experience developing web-based systems
  • Bachelor’s degree – technical field (Electrical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering) - preferred
  • Coding boot camp with some real-world experience will be considered
  • Cross functional project team experience
  • Demonstrate mission operations experience and/or general aerospace passion and knowledge
  • Provide examples of diverse technical interests and experience


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
