Blue Canyon Technologies is looking for an experienced Software Engineer-Spacecraft Test to join our team. This engineer will engage in the Test engineering discipline to design software to support AI&T.


Title: Software Engineer - Spacecraft Test

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $70,000 - $125,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Location: Lafayette, CO / Boulder, CO

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop software to integrate electrical test equipment to COSMOS (Ruby) environment
  • Creation of new test scripts for software / hardware testing of flight components and spacecraft
  • Support test scripts and provide updates to existing test scripts to ensure functionality across all programs and products
  • Develop framework for enabling generic test scripts that can be used across programs despite program differences
  • Daily collaboration with test team and other engineering disciplines as required
  • Building tools as required to support AI&T


 Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience developing software
  • Programming experience with Ruby, Python, and/or Matlab
  • Software design and diverse programming proficiency using Ruby or similar
  • Working on multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Documenting software and presenting capabilities in design reviews
  • Testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing defects in software using debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers


Additional Desired Skills:

  • Experience with networking protocols and/or software defined radios
  • Familiarity with software and hardware encryption
  • Familiarity with ground support equipment for debugging. Ex. JTAG, breakout boxes, oscilloscopes, RF racks, etc.
