Blue Canyon Technologies is looking for an experienced aerospace Electrical Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This engineer will be a technical leader, experienced in electrical subsystems including but not limited to Power, GN&C, C&DH, RF, Harnessing and payload incorporation strategies.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $87,000- $129,,000

Job Responsibilities:

• Interface with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Mission Success and other engineering disciplines in the development of electrical concepts, trade studies, architectures, operations and plans for verification/validation.
• Evaluate internal electrical technology development and upgrades for the electrical system architecture and implement best design solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the design phase.
• Provide technical oversight of subsystem designs to ensure the spacecraft electrical system is compliant and verifiable at the spacecraft bus level. Subsystems include power management, command & data handling, attitude determination and control, RF Telecom and electrical harnessing.
• Perform electrical system conceptual development and electrical subsystem level requirements flow-down.
• Present to customer and to team members using written and verbal communication.
• Augment Systems Engineering process documentation for Blue Canyon Technologies unique market share.
• Provide guidance in defining and implementing the test and verification methodologies.
• Lead resolution of hardware anomalies at the system level and determine root cause and corrective action.
• Evaluate size, weight, and power, schedule and feasibility trades.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within Blue Canyon Technologies. 

Required Education & Experience:

• BS degree or higher in Engineering and 5 or more years detailed electronics design experience.
• Experience with design trades, design concepts, system specifications, system analyses and failure reporting.
• Detailed design experience with "space flight qualified" electronics.
• Exceptional written communication skills, strong presentation skills and the ability to lead group discussions with customers and team members.
• Technical design team leadership experience.
• Experience with spacecraft level grounding, EMI/EMC/ESD and electrical interface control definitions.
• Experience with the following analyses and their impact to systems design: FMECA, WCA, Reliability, RCCA, voltage drop and derating.
• Experience with embedded processor-based electronics architecture.
• Experience with grounding architectures for low noise systems.
• Understanding of redundant hardware/software architectures and fault tolerance design.

Working conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
