Blue Canyon Technologies currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Software -DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. As the Sr. DevSecOps engineer, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening the security of the solutions used by our customers.  This position is responsible for developing and maintaining our security philosophies around our products as they continue to evolve. This person will have experience working on both security and operations, monitoring, tooling and running a cloud infrastructure and overseeing the flight software and mission ops software CI/CD pipelines. The goal of this position is to provide secure DevOps across a multi-disciplined organization enabling the teams to improve performance of spacecraft development and ground systems software.

Pay Range: $96,000 - $160,000

Essential Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Implement and support technology solutions following industry best practices and all relevant standards and practices
  • Provide primary administration and support for all servers in the hosting environments
  • Administer and maintain scalable system infrastructure within AWS enterprises
  • Translate loosely defined requirements into solutions
  • Use open-source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases
  • Use coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve problems
  • Perform incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
  • Reflect a solid comprehension of robust continuous delivery principles and practices
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
  • Execute on projects identified as necessary to implement company information and data security policies
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Technology or equivalent
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in system administration
  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment software and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Jira)
  • Experience working on both security and operations.  Technical knowledge of security engineering, identity and access management, applied cryptography, and security protocols
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language:  C/C++, Java, Python
  • Significant experience with Windows and Linux operating system environments
  • Expertise with virtualization (e.g. VMWare)
  • Expertise with containerization and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, ECS)
  • Experience managing multi-stage environments using Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft based Enterprise technology, including Active Directory, and Group Policy design and management
  • Strong understanding of common networking protocols - DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP model
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and managing servers and workstations
  • Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL and ANSI SQL)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with Agile software development in C, Ruby, JavaScript, Python
  • Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Git, Jira, GitLab, or Jenkins
  • AWS organization and account management, ideally including integration of commercial and AWS GovCloud regions


Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filling cabinets and fax machines.
