Blue Canyon Technologies is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Technician to join our growing team. In this role you will use your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas in our research and development lab.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems. You'll ensure our systems and components meet established specifications
  • Be knowledgeable/have experience using electronics assembly and test tools (Calipers, Multimeters, DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
  • Following test procedures, perform board/box level electronics testing
  • Manage electronics laboratory including; Ensuring test and assembly equipment is maintained. Point of contact for equipment, supplies, software, test tools, and facility needs.Organizing laboratory and performing ESD bench certifications
  • Interpret and work to engineering drawings, informal sketches, verbal instructions for modification of and production of electronic assemblies including multi-layer, SMT PWAs and cable harness assemblies
  • Fabricate test cables, assemble STE/GSE
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within Blue Canyon to maintain a positive and productive work environment

 

 Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent plus 8 or more years relevant experience.
  • Ability to pass and maintain in house certifications, and J-STD workmanship standards and complete significant test certification tasks and testing with little supervision.
  • Desired: IPC J-STD-001/FS (Space Addendum) Certification
  • Desired: IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification
  • Ability to read and follow complex schematics, assembly drawings, and execute test procedures.
  • Expert skills at the fabrication and assembly of GSE test sets, STE racks, and J-STD solder of cable assemblies.
  • Must be competent at operating DMM’s, digital oscilloscopes, functional generators, and programmable power supplies.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft operating system and MS Office suites Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google searches of data sheets.
