BCT is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in support of mission operations and ground test software. Our close-knit and highly collaborative Mission Operations Software Team helps support spacecraft operators, system engineers, manufacturing teams and customers - beginning at design and continuing through development, manufacturing, launch, and flight.

 

The Mission Operations Software Team develops and maintains cloud-based applications that support multiple missions. This is accomplished by utilizing MongoDB, Express.js, Polymer, and Node.js.

 

The Mission Operations Software Team also supports development of the COSMOS Command, Control, and Telemetry system, using Ruby to build new procedures and tools.

 

On any given day, the team will also work with Linux configurations, AWS setup, networking setup, hardware interfaces, and just about anything else!

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn, grow, adapt, have fun – we are a very full-stack team, and flexible problem solving is more critical than deep mastery of any one tool.
  • Create back-end tools and services for mission operations to meet the growing challenges of multiple single and multi-satellite missions.
  • Support autonomous satellite operations and anomaly resolution.
  • Create custom hardware and software interfaces for test engineers.
  • Maintain our existing COSMOS tools and infrastructure in order to support a wide array of BCT products.
  • Develop software within an agile team environment. Interact with engineers from various disciplines spanning multiple programs every day.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree – technical field (Electrical, Aerospace, or Software Engineering) preferred
  • 1-5 years of experience developing web-based systems and/or embedded systems
  • Cross functional project team experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mission operations experience
  • Cloud (AWS) deployment and administration experience

Working conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filling cabinets and fax machines.
