Blue Canyon Technologies (BCT) is looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team.

Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Position Type: Full Time-non-exempt

Pay Range: $102,000 - $126,000

Location: Lafayette, CO / Boulder, CO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the production of high precision hardware through an ERP/MRP driven factory
  • Take on the ownership and responsibility of a BCT product line as they enter and move throughout the production facility
  • Become intimately familiar with the overall electrical and mechanical designs being produced in the product line
  • Take ownership of on-time delivery for the product line with the ability to identify early schedule problems in order to mitigate overall effects
  • Manage and prioritize hardware and operations to achieve the most efficient path for flight hardware to be completed
  • Develop production plans for the product line
  • Work with production planning to ensure the work order structures are in-line and accurate with the production and test plan
  • Participate in the production planning across multiple product lines to ensure resources and materials are being used to their fullest extent across the factory
  • Develop and maintain daily reports that communicate the status of hardware outside the manufacturing area to program and product leads
  • Work with and interact with the engineering product owners to ensure successful manufacturing and test plans are being baselined prior to the hardware hitting the factory floor
  • Review and provide engineering feedback for the product line as items move through the factory
  • Identify process improvements and design improvements that will lead towards greater first pass success

Qualifications required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the manufacturing of high precision devices
  • Experience in the aerospace industry desired but not required
  • Engineering degree
  • Experience in program planning, production planning and material management
  • Ability to grasp ERP/MRP systems and the underlying principals
  • Familiarity with full cycle engineering and the understanding of how each phase of engineering affects production downstream
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize across multiple concurrent programs
  • Ability to look at large sets of data and to make informed decisions
  • Ability to make quick engineering decisions that apply to the manufacturing process to streamline production
  • Ability to manage and report progress towards key deadlines

This job operates in a light manufacturing/laboratory environment. This role uses manufacturing equipment such as mills, lathes, hand tools, etc.
