Our state-of-the-art spacecraft and subsystems are supporting LEO, GEO, Lunar, and interplanetary missions.

BCT is looking for a part-time Export Compliance Manager who will be responsible for the implementation and management of BCT’s export compliance program. The position functions as the expert authority with regard to export/import laws and regulations. The manager will be responsible for training BCT business personnel on trade laws and internal policies and procedures.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Government rules, regulations, polices, and guidance on International Business.
  • Oversee development, implementation and execution of BCT’s export and import compliance program.
  • Develop, review and update Company export compliance manuals and operating processes.
  • Ensure compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) programs.
  • Review and validate applicable Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) product classifications and Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN)
  • Conduct periodic training of BCT personnel with regards to export laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Prepare all BIS export license applications for EAR-controlled or ITAR-controlled items; or applicable STA License Exceptions
  • Prepare annual DDTC registration renewals and modifications
  • Maintain database of approved Export Licenses and Licenses Exceptions
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions
  • Assist with all due diligence relating to export and import compliance
  • Assist the BCT Shipping Department with exporting customer purchases to foreign countries and/or importing RMAs from foreign customers.
  • Serve as primary point of contact with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Customs on all import/export issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum five years of experience working with trade compliance
  • Experience conducting trade compliance training
  • Experience executing trade compliance audit programs
  • Experience with trade management software preferred
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status required (This position requires that you have access to data and technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Applicants cannot be hired unless they are qualified to have such access.)
  • Expertise with U.S. export and import regulations, including EAR and ITAR
  • Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of other non-US trade regulations
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects 

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. Travel and local commute between BCT campuses and other non-BCT locations may be required.
